Goldfields Aboriginal Business Chamber’s Forum and Trade Show

Global Lithium was pleased to attend the Goldfields Aboriginal Business Chamber’s Forum and Trade Show this week, now in its second year running.

The event’s aim was to encourage the growth of Aboriginal business in the region. Many local Aboriginal businesses were represented during the trade show, which was held in conjunction with NAIDOC Week, and displayed their products and services at the Central Regional TAFE Convention Centre.

Industry leaders from a range of Aboriginal business sectors from across the country were invited to speak during the event, and a discussion panel with five local business leaders discussed the key components to running a successful Aboriginal business. Aboriginal Australian Olympic gold medallist and former politician Nova Peris Kneebone delivered an inspiring keynote, highlighting the significance of NAIDOC Week and her grandparents’ experience growing up as Aboriginal Australians.

Our Community Relations Manager Nicole Stein said: “I was pleased to attend the Goldfields Aboriginal Business Chamber’s Forum and Trade Show on behalf of GL1. The event has gone from strength to strength with several major companies and indigenous businesses from the region represented; GABC put on a great event and we look forward to attending again next year.”
