Kakarra Traditional Owners Meeting
Less than 55km’s from Kalgoorlie and the hustle and bustle of the Diggers & Dealers Mining Forum, one of the most important and memorable meetings of the week took place with Kakarra Traditional Owners Daniel ‘Stevie’ Sinclair, Travis Tucker and Anita Hogan on Kakarra Country.
The purpose of the meet and greet was to introduce Global Lithium’s Board and management members to the Traditional Owners of the land in which our Manna Lithium Project is located. Attending from GL1 was Managing Director Ron Mitchell, Non-Executive Directors Hayley Lawrance, Greg Lilleyman and Warrick Hazeldine GAICD, CFO Matthew Allen, Community Relations Manager Nicole Stein and Project Director Dr Tony Chamberlain.
Our Managing Director Ron Mitchell said: “It was fantastic to take the opportunity to meet with Stevie and his group, and the team gained many valuable insights into the Kakarra land, history and culture. Stevie welcomed the GL1 team supported by Kakarra Traditional Owners Travis Tucker and Anita Hogan, sharing language, stories and advice; and importantly, we developed rapport for the future.”
Relationships are built on mutual respect, trust and open communication; this week’s meeting was an important step in what we hope will be a long and successful relationship with the Kakarra Traditional Owners.
A memorable visit for the team.
