Nicole Stein

Community Relations Manager

Nicole Stein is Community Relations Manager at Global Lithium Resources, responsible for sharing the GL1 story with our stakeholders and fostering meaningful relationships with our local communities.

“I love having the opportunity to meet with community members in the Goldfields and Pilbara regions. It is always an absolute privilege and pleasure to work with our Traditional Owners, and regional WA communities,” she said. “It’s great to be working at a modern, progressive company that recognises the importance of building a genuine relationship with its stakeholders – for the benefit of the company and its communities.”

Nicole has lived and worked in Malaysia, China and Australia throughout her career, and in Australia has also worked in remote Aboriginal communities, where she learnt about Indigenous culture, customs and community challenges. “Working in cross-cultural environments has taught me to always try and see what I am doing from different points of view – which I hope leads to better outcomes,” she said. Nicole has previously worked as Manager of Community Relations at BHP, where she developed new programs including the Corporate Volunteer Program and the Boodarie Iron ‘Overland to Lend a Hand’ Variety Club Kimberley Bash; she was also part of the team that implemented the historic September 2004 Participation Agreement between Argyle Diamonds and four Traditional Owner groups.

The race towards net-zero emissions depends heavily on lithium, and Nicole jumped at the opportunity to work with GL1: “I was very attracted by the opportunity to work with a company that is developing a resource that will be important for helping fight climate change.”

Outside of work, Nicole enjoys spending time with family and friends in the country, traveling and living in new cultures, and putting the FUN in FUNdraising – raising much-needed funds for Variety WA kids in need.
