Relationship Committee establishment through our Native Title Mining Agreement
At Global Lithium Resources (ASX: GL1), we believe in fostering strong, respectful and mutually beneficial relationships with the communities in which we operate.
A cornerstone of this commitment is our partnership with the Kakarra Traditional Owners through our Native Title Mining Agreement (NTMA) for the Manna Lithium Project near Kalgoorlie.
We are pleased to announce the successful establishment and ongoing progress of our combined Relationship Committee, fulfilling a key commitment under our NTMA.
This committee is designed to ensure a sustainable and collaborative partnership throughout the life of the Manna Project, founded on principles of respect, fairness, openness and transparency.
Comprising representatives from both Kakarra Traditional Owners and Global Lithium Resources, the committee’s vital functions include:
– Facilitating open communication and information sharing about project activities;
– Managing environmental and Aboriginal cultural heritage impacts in accordance with agreed protocols;
– Overseeing the Kakarra Employment, Contracting and Training Plan, ensuring opportunities and mutual objectives are met; and
– Acting as a crucial forum for consultation, dispute resolution, and identifying new work opportunities for Kakarra businesses.
We’ve already held two productive meetings since the committee’s effective date in August 2025. Our first meeting in Kalgoorlie saw the election of Floyd Barnes as Chair and our Community Relations Manager Nicole Stein as Secretary, alongside valuable input from Kakarra Traditional Owners Anita Hogan and Nikisha Smith, as well as GL1’s Managing Director Dr Dianmin Chen and Project Director Wei Xie.
Our second meeting, held recently in Perth, continued this positive momentum. We are very encouraged by the collaborative spirit and look forward to our ongoing work together, ensuring the Manna Lithium Project delivers lasting benefits for all stakeholders.
